⚡ SPARKS EDITION

PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: August 10, 2026 · Last Updated: August 10, 2026

Introduction

AZO ("we", "our", "us") operates a social culture-battle app where users vote on head-to-head debates, create battles, follow other users, and use a virtual currency called Sparks. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

By using AZO, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you sign up we collect your email address, a username you choose, and a password, which is stored only in hashed form — we never see or store your plain password.

We also collect your date of birth to confirm you meet our minimum age requirement of 13. Your date of birth is never shown to other users.

b) Profile Information

Optionally, you may add a bio, a profile picture, and set your account to private. These are visible to other users according to your privacy settings.

c) User-Generated Content and Activity

We collect the battles you create (titles, categories, images), your votes, comments, and who you follow. This content is visible to other users based on your privacy settings.

d) Sparks and Purchase Information

When you buy Sparks we record the transaction: the product purchased, the amount of Sparks credited, a store transaction identifier, and a timestamp. We also keep a record of how you spend Sparks inside the app.

Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store. We never see or store your credit card, debit card, or bank details.

e) Diagnostic and Usage Data

We collect crash reports and error logs to find and fix problems, along with general information about how features are used. This is processed by Sentry on our behalf.

f) Device Information

We collect device type, operating system version, IP address, and approximate region derived from it. We do not collect precise GPS location.

g) Advertising Identifier (only if you allow it)

On iOS, AZO asks for your permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, we do not access it, and AZO works exactly the same. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Who We Share Information With

We use a small number of service providers to run AZO. Each receives only what it needs:

ProviderWhat it handles
SupabaseDatabase and account authentication — stores your account, content, and Sparks balance
Apple App StoreProcesses all payments and issues receipts
RevenueCatValidates purchase receipts and tells our servers to credit your Sparks
SentryCrash and error reporting
CloudflareDomain and support email delivery

We also share content publicly within AZO — your username, profile picture, bio, battles, comments, and votes are visible to other users according to your privacy settings.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AZO, our users, or the public.

We do NOT sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Your Rights and Choices

If you are in the EU, UK, California, or another region with specific data rights, you may request a copy of your data or ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

5. Children's Privacy

AZO is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and do not permit accounts for users under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

Parents or guardians with concerns can contact us at the address below.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, your profile, battles, comments, votes, and follows are permanently removed within 30 days. Any unused Sparks are forfeited and cannot be refunded or restored.

Purchase records are kept for up to 7 years where required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance. These records are kept separately from your profile and are not used to identify you within the app.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing and are never readable by us. Access to production data is restricted.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

8. International Users

AZO is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. If you use AZO from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Future Features

We are considering a program that would let creators earn Sparks from activity on the battles they create. This feature does not currently exist in AZO. If we launch it, and if it ever involves payments or tax information, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify users before collecting any additional information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users in the app or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continued use of AZO after a change means you accept the updated policy.
